Kimberlie’s goal for her clients is to negotiate an advantageous settlement without the need for litigation. As a family law practitioner, Kimberlie is sensitive to the fact that successful co-parenting benefits children and parties alike, and strives to reach a reasonable agreement to resolve the case. However, if a mutual resolution cannot be reached after negotiation, then Kimberlie will advance her client’s interests at trial to the fullest extent. Kimberlie has tried numerous cases which have resulted in beneficial judgments for her clients.
Kimberlie is routinely appointed by the Middlesex Probate and Family Court as a Conciliator through the Conciliation Program sponsored by the Middlesex Bar Association. She conducts private conciliations and brings her years of experience to the table to assist people in settling cases. She has also served in the capacity as a Special Master to assist divorcing couples dividing their tangible personal property. In addition, she provides mediation services in all areas of domestic relations and equity matters. She served as a member of the 2020-2021 Massachusetts Task Force to review the Child Support Guidelines promulgated by the Commonwealth.
While a student at the University of Maine School of Law, she was selected for the National Trial Competition Team and was a finalist at the Northeast Regional Trial Competition. Attorney Sweet was also selected as a Prize Arguer on the Appellate Moot Court team, and was a finalist in the Boston Regional Moot Court Competition.
Kimberlie is an avid skier and enjoys many other outdoor sports. She is currently on the Board of Directors for the Sunday River Ski and Snowboard Club. She also serves as a Director for the Job Lane Farm House and Museum, is involved in various community organizations, and was a former director of the Chamber of Commerce in Bedford.
